THINGS TO KNOW
- 01
PMU Pre-Care Instructions:
FOLLOWING THESE PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS WILL HELP MINIMIZ BLEEDING, IMPROVE PIGMENT RETENTION, AND GIVE YOUR SKIN THE BEST OPPORTUNITY TO HEAL BEAUTIFULLY.
Please Read Carefully:
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
Limit caffeine the morning of your appointment, as it may increase sensitivity and bleeding.
Avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), fish oil, vitamin E, niacin, ginkgo biloba, garlic supplements, and other blood-thinning supplements for 48 hours before your appointment, only if approved by your healthcare provider.
Do NOT stop prescription blood thinners unless specifically instructed by the healthcare provider who prescribed them. Please notify me before your appointment if you take any prescription blood-thinning medication.
Skincare & Cosmetic Treatments
Discontinue Retin-A, tretinoin, retinol, adapalene, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, AHAs, BHAs, and other exfoliating or resurfacing skincare products around the treatment area at least 6 weeks before your appointment.
For the longevity of your permanent makeup, I also recommend avoiding these products directly over the treated area after your brows have fully healed, as frequent use may contribute to premature fading.
Avoid chemical peels, dermaplaning, micro-needling, laser treatments, dermabrasion, mesotherapy, or other resurfacing procedures on the treatment area for 3–4 weeks before your appointment.
Avoid Botox or dermal fillers in or around the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your appointment.
If you normally wax, thread, tweeze, tint, or laminate your brows, please do so at least 3 days before your appointment.
Sun Exposure
Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning beds, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks before and after your appointment.
If you arrive with a sunburn or significant tanning in the treatment area, your appointment may need to be rescheduled because damaged skin cannot be tattooed safely.
Additional Information
If you have taken Accutane (isotretinoin), you should wait until you have been off the medication and your skin has fully recovered. Clearance from your prescribing healthcare provider may be required depending on how recently you completed treatment.
Please plan vacations, swimming, beach trips, or special events at least 2 weeks after your procedure to allow adequate healing.
Eat a light meal before your appointment and stay well hydrated.
If you have a specific brow shape or style you love, feel free to bring inspiration photos. They help me understand your preferences, although every design is customized to complement your unique facial features.
You are welcome to arrive wearing your brows filled in as you normally wear them. This can be helpful during the consultation and design process.

PMU Aftercare Instructions
Congratulations on your new brows! Proper aftercare is one of the most important factors in achieving beautiful, long-lasting healed results. Please follow these instructions carefully throughout your healing process.
Your brows will appear darker, bolder, and more defined immediately after your appointment. This is completely normal.
Over the next few weeks, your brows may:
Feel tight or dry.
Develop light flaking or peeling.
Appear lighter than expected once the flakes come off.
Seem patchy or uneven during healing.
This is all a normal part of the healing process. Your true healed color will gradually develop over 4–6 weeks.
The First 7–10 Days
Keep your brows clean and dry.
Avoid touching your brows with unwashed hands.
Do not pick, scratch, rub, or peel any flaking skin. Allow it to shed naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring.
Sleep on a clean pillowcase and try to avoid sleeping directly on your face.
For 10–14 Days, Avoid:
Swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans.
Saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating.
Heavy exercise that causes excessive perspiration.
Direct sun exposure or tanning beds.
Makeup directly on the treated area.
Facials, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, or exfoliating treatments near the brows.
Retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin A products, or exfoliating skincare on the treated area.
Long-Term Care
To help your brows stay beautiful for as long as possible:
Wear SPF on the healed area whenever you’re outdoors.
Avoid using exfoliating or anti-aging skincare products directly over your brows.
Avoid frequent chemical peels or laser treatments over the treated area.
Schedule maintenance touch-ups as needed to keep your brows looking fresh.
Healing Timeline
Days 1–3: Brows appear dark and bold.
Days 4–10: Light flaking and peeling begins. Your brows may look uneven.
Days 10–21: (The Ghosting phase) Brows often appear much lighter as fresh skin covers the pigment.
Weeks 4–6: Color gradually returns as your skin completes the healing process.
Please be patient—this is completely normal and expected.
Your Enhancement Session
Permanent makeup is a two-step process. A perfecting session is recommended 6–12 weeks after your initial appointment to reinforce pigment, make any necessary adjustments, and achieve your desired healed result.
When to Contact Me
Please contact me if you experience:
Excessive redness, swelling, or pain that continues to worsen after the first few days.
Yellow or green drainage.
Signs of infection.
Any unexpected reaction or concerns during healing.
Healing can be a very hard process for some. Everyone’s skin is different. Although eyebrow cosmetic tattooing is effective in most cases, no guarantee can be made that everyone will benefit from the procedure. heals about 30-50% lighter than the initial service. If you have very dark hair, please know the pigment may heal lighter than your natural hair color. Generally, the results are excellent but it very much depends on your skin texture, oiliness, and aftercare. There are many factors that could affect your healing. Lastly, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me with your brows! I can’t wait to see your beautiful healed results. If you have any questions during your healing journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help.

COSMETIC TATTOOS ARE CONSIDERED A “TWO STEP” PROCEDURE. FOR THE MOST PART, EVERYONE WILL NEED A TOUCH-UP OR PERFECTING APPOINTMENT.
An enhancement session is recommended 6–12 weeks after your initial PMU appointment to perfect your healed results and make any necessary adjustments. This session is an important part of the PMU process, as everyone’s skin heals differently and pigment retention can vary.
Your enhancement session is reserved specifically for you and should be scheduled within the recommended timeframe. Your first perfecting touch-up, scheduled after your initial procedure (6-12 weeks), is $150. Touch-up sessions requested after this timeframe may be subject to an additional fee, as they may require more extensive work.
Please note that the enhancement session is not a complete new set of brows and is intended for minor adjustments such as adding additional strokes, balancing shape, or improving pigment retention. Additional sessions may be recommended depending on your skin type, lifestyle, healing process, and desired results. Please note again that everyone’s skin is different and will experience different results when it comes to retention. Additional touch-ups may be necessary. If additional touch-ups are needed, there will be a charge. If you wait past the 12-week mark for your first touch-up, there will be a charge – see price list below. There will be no exceptions. Clients are responsible for booking their own touch-ups
If you need to reschedule your enhancement appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in the loss of your enhancement session and a fee may apply for future appointments.
While every effort is made to achieve beautiful, long-lasting results, PMU is a healing process and results cannot be guaranteed due to factors such as skin type, lifestyle, aftercare, medications, and individual healing.
Thank you for trusting me with your brows. Your patience during the healing process allows us to create the best possible healed results for you.

PMU is designed to fade naturally over time, and periodic touch-up sessions are recommended to maintain the shape, color, and definition of your brows. Everyone’s skin heals and retains pigment differently, so the timing of your touch-up will vary based on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Future touch-ups are available for existing Dream Ink clients and are priced based on how much pigment has faded and how much work is needed to refresh your brows.
Touch-Up Pricing:
6–12 Month Touch-Up
$150–$200
Recommended for clients who want to refresh color and maintain their original brow shape.
12–18 Month Touch-Up
$200–$250
For clients experiencing more noticeable fading while still having a good amount of pigment remaining.
24+ Month Touch-Up
$250–$300
For clients needing more refreshing and rebuilding of faded areas.
Please note that touch-up pricing is based on the condition of your brows at the time of your appointment. Additional sessions may be recommended if your brows require more correction or pigment layering to achieve your desired results.
Thank you for trusting Dream Ink with your brows. Consistent maintenance appointments help keep your brows looking fresh, natural, and beautiful for years to come.

If you have previous permanent makeup or brow tattooing done by another artist, a consultation and photo review are required prior to booking. Every set of brows heals differently, and the existing shape, color, saturation, and pigment placement will determine whether we are able to work over them. Please email a clear recent picture to dreaminkpmu@gmail.com
or send a TEXT to (240)-595-5775 for approval.
Please understand that cover-ups and corrections are not always possible. In some cases, previous pigment may need to be lightened or removed before new PMU can be performed to achieve the best possible results.
When working over existing brow tattooing, results may vary depending on factors such as:
The amount and depth of previous pigment
Remaining color tones (red, orange, gray, blue, or dark pigment)
Previous brow shape and symmetry
Skin type and healing response
If your existing brows are suitable for a refresh, additional time and technique may be required, and pricing may vary depending on the amount of correction needed.
Please send clear, well-lit photos of your brows without makeup before booking. This allows me to properly evaluate your brows and determine the best approach for your desired results.
Thank you for trusting me with your brows! My goal is always to create beautiful, natural-looking results while protecting the integrity and health of your skin.

Are not necessary but welcomed, of course. :)
